MALAYSIA BOARD OF TECHNOLOGISTS (MBOT) CONDUCTS WORKSHOP ON DEVELOPING GUIDELINE IMPLEMENTING INDUSTRIAL MODE PROGRAMME (SERIES 2)

February 18, 2024 - The Workshop on Developing Guidelines for the Implementation of Industry Mode Programmes, Series 2, hosted by the Technology and Technical Accreditation Council (TTAC) of the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), marks a sequential continuation of Series 1. This three-day workshop, held from February 16 to February 18, 2024, served as a platform to offer enhanced insights into the methodologies for implementing industry models, with a specific emphasis on apprenticeship models.

Industry mode programmes represent a distinctive educational offering, integrating on-campus and off-campus learning experiences throughout the study period. These programmes facilitate the convergence of academic knowledge with practical, real-world experiences pertinent to the field of 'technology and technical services.' Employing a work-based learning (WBL) delivery approach, industry mode programmes are designed to bridge theoretical understanding with hands-on application.

Furthermore, this initiative garnered input from diverse stakeholders, including representatives from public universities, private universities, Technical and Vocational Education Division, Department of Polytechnic Education and Community College, the Malaysian Qualifications Agency, and industry stakeholders. A total of 13 individuals actively participated in this collaborative effort, contributing to the refinement and advancement of strategies for the successful implementation of industry mode programmes.
