MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Bismillahirrahmanirahim,
Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,
Along with the emergence of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0), the Government of Malaysia guided by the National 4IR Policy intends to transform Malaysia into becoming a high-tech nation by the year 2030. The World Bank report shows that human skills are increasingly being replaced by technology-driven productivity. Therefore, it is important for the country's workforce today and in the future to have the sensitivity and skills to handle technology, for the purpose of ensuring that the country remains competent in the economic aspect.
In this context, the Technology and Technical Accreditation Council (TTAC) plays a huge role in ensuring accredited bachelor degree (MQF level 6), advanced diploma (MQF level 5), diploma (MQF level 4) and certificate (MQF level 3) in the field of technology, are relevant and conform to the Industry 4.0. The TTAC comprises of 6 core representatives; Malaysia Board of Technologists, Department of Higher Education, Malaysian Qualifications Agency, learned society, industry and academia. This council acts as a Joint Technical Committee with the Malaysian Qualifications Agency to change the nation's educational landscape towards future education, not only to produce Technologists and Technicians who specialise in technology applications, but also technology development experts who are in line with the aspirations of the National 4IR Policy.
The educational landscape changes with the passage of time. Therefore, programmes are flexible and driven together with the industry such as work-based learning/ 2u2i, cooperative studies and apprenticeships which is the face of TTAC, opening up a new dimension of national education to ensure that Technologists and Technicians competencies meet the needs of the public and private sectors. Last but not least, I am confident that Technologists and Technicians produced from the accredited technology programmes by TTAC are competent and capable of leading Malaysia out of various existing issues and challenges, subsequently becoming a high-tech nation by the year 2030.
Thank you and Best regards.
Sincerely,
YBhg. Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr. Massila binti Kamalrudin Chairman of Technology and Technical Accreditation Council
