MBOT Accreditation Process
The accreditation process starts with education provider submitting accreditation documents to TTAC MBOT with the consent of Malaysian Qualifications Agency for provisional accreditation and full accreditation. Meanwhile, for compliance accreditation, the documentation must be submitted directly to TTAC MBOT. In view of foregoing, TTAC MBOT will appoint subject matter experts from the approved accreditation panel corresponding to the relevant MBOT fields.
Provisional accreditation evaluates the academic quality planning of a proposed academic programme before it is offered. The provisional accreditation process is normally conducted through the desktop audit. TTAC MBOT reserves the right to make an accreditation visit if the condition requires it to do so.
Full accreditation is an evidence-based evaluation that verifies the actual delivery of the programme. The full accreditation process is normally conducted through an accreditation visit to the respective EP.
The evaluation of the academic programme quality for provisional accreditation and full accreditation will be carried out based on provided evidence. The education provider is responsible for providing all necessary documents to the accreditation panel for evaluating academic planning and implementation. Based on the evaluation, education provider will be informed of the findings and officially notified by TTAS MBOT of the education provider opportunity to rebut the accreditation panel findings before making recommendations to TTAC MBOT.
The following table illustrates the outcomes of the accreditation process:
Accreditation | Process |
---|---|
Provisional accreditation | TTAC MBOT submits recommendations to Malaysian Qualifications Agency for Provisional accreditation approval. Malaysian Qualifications Agency directly notifies education provider of the result and copies it to TTAC MBOT for accreditation record keeping. |
Full accreditation / compliance accreditation | TTAC MBOT submits recommendations to Board MBOT for full accreditation / compliance accreditation approval. Subsequently, TTAC MBOT notifies Malaysian Qualifications Agency to proceed with registering the outcome on the Malaysian Qualifications Register and listing it on the TTAC MBOT website. |
