MBOT TECHNOLOGY & TECHNICAL EDUCATION TOWNHALL

October 17, 2023 - a significant moment unfolded as 19 Higher Education Institutions and Skills Training Institutes (ILK) in Malaysia inked a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT). This landmark agreement enables graduates to attain membership status within this esteemed professional body.

The significance of this accord cannot be overstated, as it heralds a new era in the realm of higher education in the country. Graduates emerging from programs accredited by MBOT will now enjoy the privilege of seamless registration with this professional body. This accreditation is a testament to the alignment of academic programs with the rigorous competencies demanded by technologists and professional technicians. Moreover, MBOT's accreditation standards consistently evolve to mirror the latest advancements in technology and cater to the dynamic needs of industries, ensuring graduates' competency and employability.

This momentous recognition was solidified through the collaborative efforts outlined in the MoU, fostering a robust academic partnership network between MBOT and the 19 HEIs and ILK, namely:

2. University of Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA);

3. Technical University of Malaysia Malacca (UTeM);

4. Tun Hussein Onn University of Malaysia (UTHM);

5. Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM);

6. Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK);

7. Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM);

8. Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR);

9. Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP);

10. Monash University Malaysia;

11. Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT);

12. International Medical University (IMU);

13. Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN);

14. Peninsula College;

15. UCSI University Bangladesh Branch Campus;

16. University College TATI (UC TATI);

17. INTI International University;

18. Management and Science University (MSU);

19. Terengganu Skills Development Centre (TESDEC).

The formal exchange of MoUs took place during the MBOT Technology and Technical Education Townhall 2023 in Putrajaya. This gathering convened 150 participants, including senior management figures from the institutions, such as Vice-Chancellors, Deputy Vice-Chancellors, and other institutional representatives.

Adding to the significance of the event, Datuk Ts. Wan Hasmar Azim Bin Wan Hassan, Chief Executive Officer of Weststar Aviation Services Sdn. Bhd., graced the occasion. He shared valuable insights during his presentation on the theme "Community of Practice in the New Dimension of the Industry Ecosystem".
