October 27, 2023 - Datuk Ts. Ir. Dr. Siti Hamisah binti Tapsir, FASc, President of the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), paid a courtesy visit to Professor Dato Ts. Dr. Yuserrie bin Zainuddin, Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA).

The courtesy visit from the President and the MBOT delegation aimed to share the latest developments regarding MBOT and explore collaboration opportunities between MBOT and UMPSA, particularly in the accreditation of technology and technical programs.

This meeting also served as a platform for long-term discussions and MBOT-UMPSA collaboration, including:

1. Programs at UMPSA accredited under the Technology and Technical Accreditation Council, MBOT.

2. The implementation of the TechZone program in the East Coast Zone, specifically at UMPSA. TechZone is a platform to encourage expertise sharing, enhance knowledge transfer related to technology, and connect MBOT professional members within a strategic network.

3. The Campus Tech Talk TUNE program, a tour program for Talent Upskilling and Networking for Employment (TUNE) to provide exposure to the functions and roles of MBOT in recognizing technology and technical graduates to UMPSA students.

4. UMPSA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with MBOT that allows graduates to register in groups as Certified Technologists and Qualified Technicians for graduates from programs accredited by MBOT. This agreement marks a significant milestone for the country's higher education, as graduates from programs accredited by MBOT are eligible for automatic registration with the MBOT professional body.

Also present during this courtesy visit were Dr. Md Fauzi bin Md Ismail, Registrar of MBOT, Ts. Dr. Nor Aznan bin Mohd Nor, Deputy Director of the Technology and Technical Accreditation Secretariat (TTAS) and Mrs. Hajah Nur Sakinah binti Ishak, Assistant Director of TTAS MBOT.
