MALAYSIA BOARD OF TECHNOLOGISTS (MBOT) CONDUCTS WORKSHOP ON DEVELOPING GUIDELINE IMPLEMENTING INDUSTRIAL MODE PROGRAMME

January 28, 2024 - The Technology and Technical Accreditation Council (TTAC) of the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) convened a Workshop on Developing Guidelines for the Implementation of Industry Mode Programmes. The primary objective of this workshop was to elucidate the methodologies for implementing industry models, with a specific focus on apprenticeship models. Spanning over two days, from January 27 to January 28, 2024, the workshop aimed to provide comprehensive insights into the integration of on-campus and off-campus learning, particularly in real-world workplace settings, throughout the educational journey.

The Industry Mode Programme is characterized by a blend of academic learning and practical experience within the relevant field of 'technology and technical services.' It entails collaborative efforts between educational providers and industries in curriculum development and delivery. Embracing a work-based learning (WBL) delivery approach, programmes offered through the industry mode facilitate seamless integration of theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience.

Furthermore, the development of these guidelines solicited input from various stakeholders, including representatives from public universities, the Technical and Vocational Education Division, and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency. A total of 13 individuals actively participated in this collaborative workshop, contributing to the refinement of strategies for the successful implementation of Industry Mode Programmes.
