August 26, 2025 - The Deputy Dean (Education) of the Sunway University, Associate Professor Dr Selina Low Yeh Ching, received a courtesy call from representatives of MBOT. The representatives included Dr. Md Fauzi bin Md Ismail, Registrar of MBOT, Ms. Auni Batrisya binti Mohamad Zaihan and Mrs. Anis Syahrina binti Lukman, Assistant Director of Technology and Technical Accreditation Secretariat.

The purpose of this courtesy call was to share the latest updates about MBOT comprehensively and to explore potential collaboration opportunities between Sunway University and MBOT, such as the accreditation of technology and technical academic programs, the development of new academic programs related to technology and technical fields, enhancing the professionalism of Sunway University lecturers through MBOT professional recognition, the establishment of joint programs between Sunway University and MBOT & accreditation for short courses programmes related to technology and technical fields.

For IT and computing related programmes, MBOT accreditation allows these programmes to gain recognition under the Seoul Accord. This recognition ensures that graduates meet internationally established standards and guarantees equivalence with graduates from countries that are full signatories of the Seoul Accord. In addition, graduates of these programs are also eligible to automatically register as graduate members of MBOT, paving the way for them to become professional members in the future.
