16 Apr, 2026 - Raffles University continues to fortify its position as a hub for industry-aligned education through a recent high-level strategic dialogue with the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT). The visit, hosted by President, Associate Professor Gregory John Pritchard, underscored the institution's drive to harmonize academic rigor with professional certification.

Representing MBOT were its Registrar, Dr. Md Fauzi bin Md Ismail, accompanied by the Director of TTAS, Ts. Dr. Nor Aznan bin Mohd Nor.

The cornerstone of the discussion revolved around three transformative pillars aimed at benefiting both students and faculty:
1. Benchmarking Programme Excellence: A proactive focus on refining Raffles University's technology curriculum to ensure it stays ahead of the benchmarks set by the Technology and Technical Accreditation Council (TTAC).

2. Empowering Faculty Expertise: A joint initiative to facilitate Raffles University's academic staff in achieving Professional Technologist (Ts.) and Certified Technician (Tc.) status. This professionalization of faculty is set to enrich the University's industry-led teaching environment.

3. Agile Workforce Upskilling: Exploring the creation of accredited micro-credentials and specialized short courses, tailored to meet the immediate upskilling needs of the modern workforce.

Beyond accreditation, the meeting highlighted MBOT's commitment to providing hands-on guidance and support in documentation processes, ensuring Raffles University remains seamlessly aligned with national accreditation standards. This collaboration marks a pivotal step in Raffles University's mission to cultivate highly competent graduates who are primed for the demands of the national technological landscape.
