MBOT PRESIDENTS COURTESY VISIT TO I-CATS UNIVERSITY COLLEGE TO PROMOTE STRATEGIC COLLABORATION IN TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION

July 14, 2026 - Prof. Dato' Ts. Ir. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim bin Abdul Mutalib, President of the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), paid a courtesy visit to Professor Emeritus Datuk Ts. Dr. Mohamad Kadim bin Suaidi, Vice Chancellor of i-CATS University College, as part of a strategic engagement to foster closer institutional ties and explore collaborative opportunities in advancing technology and technical education in Malaysia.
The MBOT delegation was also accompanied by Chairman of TTAC, Dato' Ts. Ir. Dr. Badhrulhisham bin Abdul Aziz, Director of TTAS, Ts. Dr. Nor Aznan bin Mohd Nor, and Deputy Registrar, Dr. Suaathi a/p Kaliannan.
The engagement provided a valuable platform for MBOT and i-CATS University College to exchange views and identify potential areas of cooperation in strengthening education initiatives, enhancing professional development, and promoting the growth of technology-related disciplines.
Discussions centred on exploring potential areas of collaboration, including the development of new programmes and emerging technology disciplines that could strengthen Sarawakâs technology ecosystem and support industry-driven growth. The engagement also highlighted the importance of ensuring that future academic offerings remain aligned with technological advancements and evolving workforce requirements.
Through this engagement, MBOT and i-CATS University College reaffirmed their shared commitment towards cultivating a future-ready technology ecosystem and contributing to the development of competent technology professionals to support Malaysia's evolving industry landscape.
