COURTESY VISIT BY DEAN OF FACULTY OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, UPM STRENGTHENS COLLABORATION TOWARDS MBOT ACCREDITATION AND SEOUL ACCORD RECOGNITION

Aug 12, 2026 - The Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT) recently welcomed a courtesy visit from the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology , Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), YBhg. Dato’ Prof. Dr. Shamala K. Subramaniam.
The visit provided an opportunity for MBOT and UPM to engage in discussions on the conversion of MQA programmes to MBOT accreditation towards Seoul Accord Recognition.
The discussion focused on the implementation and requirements for the conversion process, as well as the opportunities for UPM’s Computing and IT-related programmes to obtain MBOT accreditation in line with the Seoul Accord framework. The initiative aims to further strengthen professional recognition and support the international mobility of graduates in the field of computing.
The courtesy visit was also attended by key representatives and members of the management team from Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology UPM, contributing to a meaningful exchange of views on computing education, professional recognition and industry requirements.
MBOT appreciates the visit and the constructive engagement with Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, UPM. The discussion reflects the continued commitment of both parties towards strengthening collaboration and advancing the quality and recognition of computing and technology education in Malaysia.
