Sept 3, 2026 - The MBOT delegation received a warm welcome from YBrs. Prof. Madya Dr.-Ing. Maizatul Hayati binti Mohamad Yatim, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Meta-Technology, Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI). The delegation was headed by YBrs. Ts. Dr. Nor Aznan bin Mohd Nor, Director of the Technology and Technical Accreditation Secretariat (TTAS).

The discussions focused on potential areas of collaboration, particularly in computing and IT-related programmes, with the aim of ensuring that academic programmes remain aligned with evolving industry needs, emerging technological developments, and future workforce requirements.

During the engagement, MBOT also introduced a new initiative, conversion of bachelor’s degree programmes in computing and IT-related programmes to seoul accord recognition, which provides greater opportunities for programmes that have yet to obtain MBOT accreditation and Seoul Accord recognition. The initiative is in line with MBOT’s policy that, effective from 2027, only graduates from MBOT-accredited programmes recognised under the Seoul Accord will be eligible to register as Graduate Technologists and Professional Technologists (Ts.) in the fields of Information and Communication Technology (IT), Cyber Security Technology (CS), and Creative and Multimedia Technology (AM).
